Amr Sobhy

Winner of the 2011 African Leadership Academy and MasterCard Foundation Anzisha Prize, Amr Sobhy is a young social entrepreneur, published author, TEDx curator and technology evangelist who currently works in marketing and branding. After having obtained a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2010, Amr embraced a career shift and headed to business and entrepreneurship. Inspired by the Egyptian revolution, with a few of his friends, they created “Zabatak”, a social crowd-sourcing platform. Zabatak aims at empowering the average citizen through sharing information about corruption and crime via technology, namely: crowd-source reporting and interactive mapping. Sobhy is also a recipient of various national and continental merits including First Lady’s Award in Internet Applications 2004, ThinkQuest Africa 2004 and Mtanado Afrika 2007,2008.
